From Stigma to Play, Making the Invisible Visible: A Service Ecosystem for Sun Safety
The Challenge
How might we encourage informed skincare habits when sun damage is invisible? We tackled the stigma and friction surrounding suncare, aiming to shift the mindset from "beauty" to "essential health" for both kids and adults.
The Deep Dive & System Mapping
We spent 7 months immersing ourselves in the user journey. By co-creating with over 100 participants, we moved past simple assumptions to build a verified service ecosystem. We connected the dots between home routines, school environments, medical advice and UV-monitoring technology, ensuring the solution worked in the chaos of daily life, not just in theory.
We designed the Service Ecosystem with three interconnected touchpoints:
The Wearable: A low-cost UV sensor for real-time tracking.
The App: A gamified interface for kids and data dashboard for parents.
The Community: A partnership program for schools to normalise sun safety.
Business Viability & Scale
During the 8-week incubation phase with ISDIN, we refined the value proposition to ensure scalability. The final proposal offers a seamless integration into the ISDIN digital platform, unlocking a new demographic of young adults while retaining high value for our core parent-child user base.
